Collaborative Project

 This project was developed by me with help from staff at Mediva, Inc. and long-term care facilities in Japan and the United States. 


Project Goal

To use technology to strengthen social bonds within the long-term care community & create a catalyst that will aid users of varying capabilities to connect

Project Overview

Product: Tech-Integrated Book

Technological components are integrated into a familiar object to improve usability.

Multi-sensory design

Brings the content to life and allows it to be more accessible to users of varying abilities. Also the more tactile experience is better for brain stimulation.

Service: Therapeutic Creation Process

Page creation process involves elements of reminiscent and art therapies

    Winner of CHI 2019 Student Design Competition

    CHI 2019 the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems is the premier international conference of Human-Computer Interaction. This year the competition received 93 submissions from around the world, and had a 13% acceptance rate. After a poster presentation and full presentation our project was selected as the winner.
