Welcome
Nice to meet you.
My name is Elaine Czech. I am a Design Researcher specializing in designing experiences.
My name is Elaine Czech. I am a Design Researcher specializing in designing experiences.
I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Art & Design and minors in Biological Anthropology and History of Art. After graduating, I moved to Kyoto, Japan to live for two years as a researcher of Noh Theater and Masks. Briefly came back to the States for a year to relearn English before returning to Japan to pursue a masters in Media Design at Keio University in Tokyo.
In undergraduate, I studied a range of design and craft techniques. I also took full advantage of my University as a research facility and pursued other academic disciplines.
But in researching Noh, I gained unexpected skills. My initial language limitations allowed me to hone my observation skills and due to its emotional nature, prepared me to become a design researcher.
Outside of the design, I am an avid hiker and Zumba enthusiast. I also love animals and initially wanted to become a veterinarian when I entered college.
